Priest slaps crying baby at baptism ceremony

Priest slaps crying baby at baptism ceremony

A video making the rounds apparently shows a priest grabbing and slapping a baby during a baptism.

The exact day and location of this incident were not specified.

Some users on Reddit have noted that everyone is speaking French in the video and translated what the priest is saying.

The priest is shown to hit the poor child in the face because he would not stop crying. The priest who visibly annoyed, then holds the baby's face in his hands, looks it in the eyes and slaps it hard on the cheek with his left hand.

Maurizio Sarri plots raid for highly-rated Belgian attacker
Koulibaly could well follow Sarri to Stamford Bridge as the Italian is keen on bringing in several of his former players with him. I think Chelsea fans will enjoy the style of football he plays.

The disturbing video, posted on Wednesday, has generated 245,898 views and 389 comments, but it is unclear where it was filmed. It is not known where in France this baptism took place or what the name of the priest is.

The child's relatives still appear to be smiling as the priest brings the baby's head towards his, but the baby reacts badly and flails its right arm towards the woman.

However, not quite enjoying the ceremony, the baby suddenly began crying out loudly.

"There, you have to calm yourself, you have to calm yourself, there, there", the priest says, according to KFOR.

"And then, I'll kiss the little kid - because he'll have become a little Christian".

The priest was heard saying afterwards: "There, you have to calm yourself, you have to calm yourself, there, there".

Many people online have been outraged by the priest's behaviour.

Spain vs. Iran final score, recap
Spain's goal eventually came from a scrappy deflection off either an Iran defender or Diego Costa (the goal was awarded to Costa). Spain will face Morocco in its final match on Monday in Kaliningrad, while Portugal plays Iran in Saransk on the same day.
