Light to bring multi-lens camera system to smartphones

Light already has a camera called L16 with a 16 lens system, placed at various angles. That's what the folks over at Light are hoping after announcing that it is experimenting with a device that has between five and nine camera lenses on its rear.

Yes, you read that right.

The upcoming smartphone reportedly captures 64-megapixel photos with "better low-light performance and sophisticated depth effects" by combining all the images from the multiple cameras into a single picture.

North Korea expands weapons facilities despite US pressure to disarm
North Korea's missile facilities were expanding in the leadup to a meeting between Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump on denuclearization, according to an independent report .

Camera company Light is developing a smartphone that could have up to nine camera lenses.

How many lenses is too many for a smartphone?

Talking of the L16 camera, it is a compact camera that captures the details at multiple focal lengths. For those who do not know the brand, Light is a for-profit company focused on revolutionizing the photo industry. Back in March, Huawei unveiled the first smartphone with a triple camera setup and DxOMark said that smartphones with four cameras will soon become very common.

Williams postpones press conference for royal appointment
Serena Williams postponed her pre-Wimbledon press conference on Saturday as she accompanied the Duchess of Sussex to a polo match. Sources tell Nicholl that she does not have an official stylist, which probably means Markle is picking her own looks.

However, to get that technology you'd better be ready to pay up, as the Light L16 starts at almost $2,000. Light's L16 camera costs $1950. Then, that information is stitched together by an algorithm to create a high-resolution image that could theoretically rival a photo captured on a DSLR camera.

Light's new phone promises to be, unlike its ancestor the L16, as thin as the iPhone itself, and promises to deliver images that would absolutely blow its competition out of the water.

There's also the fact that smartphones have gotten a lot better over the years, but one of the main factors that can still be improved is the camera.
