President Donald Trump to visit Windsor on United Kingdom tour

It came on Mr Trump's first formal visit to Britain as US President but was overshadowed by protests around the United Kingdom by hard left activists and strong criticism of Mrs May's Brexit policy by Mr Trump. Both of those accords were the result of years of painstaking diplomacy by European leaders - and Trump unilaterally trashed them. We greatly respect America as a generous place built up by immigrants over the years.

However, the Scottish Government approved the plans with the UK Supreme Court eventually rejecting Mr Trump's legal challenge in 2015.

We believe that this publicly-owned facility should not be used for Donald Trump's visit.

President Donald Trump will get the red-carpet treatment on his brief visit to Britain beginning today: military bands at a gala dinner, lunch with the prime minister at her country residence and tea with the queen at Windsor Castle before flying off to one of his golf clubs in Scotland.

Mr Trump told journalists he had been "reading a lot about Brexit".

He is due to leave Britain on Sunday for talks in Helsinki the following day with Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose government stands accused by May's of unleashing a lethal nerve agent in the city of Salisbury.

More than 50,000 people have signed up to demonstrate in London on Friday when protesters intend to fly a large balloon over parliament portraying Trump as an orange, snarling baby.
