Trump Says Baby Blimp Makes Him Feel ‘Unwelcome’ in London

In an interview published just hours before he was due to have lunch with May and tea with Queen Elizabeth on Friday, Trump chided the "very unfortunate" results of the prime minister's Brexit negotiation.

May hopes Trump, who arrived at Stansted airport from Brussels, will help accelerate a future free trade deal, though his public comments on Brexit have cast a shadow over the visit.

The president downplayed the fallout from the interview as he next to May on Friday for a bilateral meeting at Chequers, her official country house.

In a statement released late Thursday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said: "The President likes and respects Prime Minister May very much.

We urge that the Scottish government rules out any use of Prestwick by the president or his entourage, and so send the most powerful message possible that Donald Trump is not welcome in Scotland".

"To those intent on causing trouble or breaking the law, I simply say: you are not welcome".

Trump personally criticized May's handling of Brexit, saying that her so-called soft-Brexit approach went "the opposite way" to what he had recommended and that it was "very unfortunate".

Exhausted and battered, Croatia reaches its 1st World Cup final
Croatia are the smallest nation to reach a World Cup final since Uruguay in 1950, as well as the lowest ranked ever (20th). It's an incredible achievement for us, it's a dream come true after such a long time.

"You know I've been reading a lot on Brexit over the last couple of days and its seems to be turning a little bit differently where they're getting at least partially involved back with the European Union", he said.

She listed Mr Trump's immigration policies, bans on some people entering the United States, his foreign policies, and lack of support for taking action on climate change as having affects across the globe.

"I think he has done a very bad job on terrorism", Trump told the tabloid.

But for many British diplomats, Brexit marks the collapse of a 70-year strategy of trying to balance European integration with a USA alliance based on blood, trade and intelligence sharing.

"We had a dinner where I think we probably never developed a better relationship than last night".

He added: "If the EU do not offer the USA a better deal on trade, the United States will do something about European cars being imported at a very low tariff". "I think you're losing your culture". "We can not roll out the red carpet for a U.S. president that treats human beings this way", the statement noted.

Trump also said that immigrants were destroying European culture and that he planned to maintain good relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin despite nerve agent attacks on United Kingdom soil that have been blamed on the Kremlin. Yet, now that protesters are planning to fly a great big diapered Baby Trump blimp, he doesn't feel welcome anymore.

Melania Trump brings major glamour for black-tie dinner at Blenheim Palace
Only one person, the digital entrepreneur and philanthropist Baroness Martha Lane-Fox, has publicly refused the invitation. An inflatable, baby version of President Donald Trump could be appearing over his golf course in Scotland this weekend.

Trump was greeted at the palace by May, whose government has been rocked by resignations from ongoing tumult over Brexit.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, published on Friday morning, Mr Trump said Ms May's plans for a business-friendly Brexit would leave it too close to the European Union to allow a new trans-Atlantic trade deal to be struck.

Trump will spend the weekend at the former, which he described as a "magical place", before heading to Helsinki, Finland, for a much-anticipated summit on July 16 with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"It's also an opportunity to tear down the bureaucratic barriers that frustrate business leaders on both sides of the Atlantic", she said.

The demonstrations come ahead of a mass protest scheduled to begin at 2:00pm on Friday in central London, and dozens of other actions against Trump-amounting to what the Stop Trump Coalition and Stand Up to Trump have dubbed a "carnival of resistance".

But the balloon will not be allowed to fly over his Turnberry golf course, Police Scotland have said.
