Hurricane Chris becomes Category 2, continues moving away from coast

With Tropical Storm Chris swirling off the North Carolina coast, North Carolina officials are watching the storm closely and telling those on the coast to be cautious.

On 10 July 2018, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NOAA) reported that Tropical Storm Chris is moving northeastward and is expected to become hurricane later today.

Although Chris may no longer be a hurricane, the storm could still have a significant impact on weather both on the East Coast and Canada as it races across the Atlantic and toward Canada.
