Corning Gorilla Glass 6 Announced, Features Multi-Drop Protection

Corning has announced its new version of Gorilla Glass, Gorilla Glass 6.

Gorilla Glass 6 has higher compression, which makes it more resistant to cracks when dropped on stress points from 1-meter heights. Gorilla Glass 6 has been created to withstand these normal use case scenarios, which is good news for smartphone owners, particularly of higher end devices. And Corning didn't say that the next-generation iPhone and iPad will use Gorilla Glass 6, but it's a fairly safe bet.

Russian Federation agrees to help with North Korea relationship, Trump says
However, they said that dialogue was contingent on the condition that North Korea give up its nuclear weapons. The gathering came after Pyongyang demolished tunnels leading to its underground nuclear testing site.

Corning cited a recent worldwide Toluna consumer study as indicating that on average, people drop their phones seven times a year, with more than 50% of the drops occurring at one meter or below. In order to improve the durability of cover glass even after multiple drops, Corning has developed an entirely new material. The company claims Gorilla Glass 6 is made to withstand two potentially catastrophic events for today's increasingly glassy phones: higher drops and multiple drops. This new design change has been put in place to counteract the extreme likelihood that a smartphone will be dropped on multiple occasions.

With respect to scratch resistance, Corning states that Gorilla Glass 6 will have the same level of scratch resistance as its predecessor. In 2016, Corning launched Gorilla Glass 5.

Putin summit: US president under fire over poll meddling comments
One of Trump's own Senators accused the President of making America look like "a pushover" by refusing to stand up to Putin. Putin on Monday repeated the Russian denial of election interference, calling it "nonsense".

In addition to larger front displays with more surface area, mobile device manufacturers are also embracing phone designs with glass backs. Meant to be used in future smartphones, the cover glass is created to be even more resistant to damage.

Corning notes that Gorilla Glass has been designed into more than six billion devices by more than 45 major brands.

Alisson speaks out at airport as Roma accept £67m bid
Chelsea could reportedly turn their attention to AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer if they miss out on Alisson. Alisson was Brazil's number one at the World Cup and is highly regarded as one of the best goalies in the world right now.

The DX and DX+ follow the Gorilla Glass 6 and their main goal is to reduce reflection. Corning hopes its new Gorilla Glass 6 will keep it on the check list of desirable specs for smart devices. The first phones with the material will hit the market later this year.
