Android 9.0 Pie officially launched by Google

Android 9.0 Pie officially launched by Google

Google is officially announcing its next major version of Android today. I'm not exactly sad that Google passed up another branding opportunity - after Android Kit-Kat and Android Oreo, we didn't really need Android Pop-Tart - but would it have been that hard to have Android Pumpkin Pie?

According to YouTuber Brandon Lee on his This is Tech Today channel, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will drop in on October 4, 2018.

"The name of Juan Manuel Santos is behind this attack", the authoritarian Venezuelan leader said. Colombia called the claim "baseless".

So far, we are seeing new Android 9.0.0 files for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL (PPR1.180610.009, PPR1.180610.011), as well as the Pixel and Pixel XL (PPR1.180610.009, PPR1.180610.010).

In true Essential fashion, the company is rolling out the Android Pie update to its only device; the PH1.

Oil trades higher after two days of heavy losses
Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub fell by 1.3 million barrels, EIA said. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a decline of 2.8 million barrels.

To check to see if the update is live, head into Settings System System Update. A feature called App Actions will try to predict what you want to do next with your phone, like help you navigate to work when you're getting ready for a commute or suggest a Spotify playlist when you plug in headphones. Instead, you now simply swipe up on the screen to see your recently-used apps, just like you would on an iPhone X. There are a number of other gesture-based shortcuts to get used to as well.

Well, now it would seem that the Google is even keener to position the Google Pixel 3 range as a direct alternative to the new iPhones, as its launch date has just leaked and, yes you guessed it, it is smack bang in the middle of Apple's new iPhone launch window. Similarly, Adaptive Brightness will automatically adjust the display brightness to your current location and what you are doing on the device. "Next time you search for Lyft, you can see prices and driver ETAs right within your results". For example, Adaptive Battery aims to learn which apps you use the most and prioritize the battery life, so it can maximize power. A Dashboard will show you how much you've been using your phone, while an App Timer will let you set limits on how much you can use an app each day.

The plane hit a vehicle but nobody in the auto was hurt, said Stephen Concialdi, spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority. Another witness told local news media that he was coming out of a sushi restaurant when he saw the plane flying low.
