Elderly men escape nursing home for German heavy metal festival

According to a report from German global broadcaster Deutsche Welle, two elderly men fled a nursing home on Friday to attend the world's largest heavy metal festival, Wacken Open Air.

After some prodding, the men were taken back to the nursing home via a patrol vehicle and a taxi.

Just to give you a taste of what they most likely took in, here's Sepultura with their cover of Black Sabbath's "Symptom Of The Universe".

A local police officer Merle Neufeld said: "Both were disoriented and apathetic".

Meanwhile, firefighters battling the deadly and destructive wildfires in the region faced worsening weather conditions. In all, they have destroyed hundreds of homes, killed eight people and shut down Yosemite National Park.

Two elderly men escaped a nursing home and were found at 3am at a heavy metal festival.

The old age pensioners were reported missing and found at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival at 3am.

The elderly metalheads reportedly did not want to leave the festival so easily.

The 29th edition of the legendary festival was fully sold out, with an expected 75,000 people expected to attend the four-day festival.

Police praised festival-goers for good behaviour and said they had only been needed in relation to a few minor drug seizures.

We can't help but wonder whether they're going to go for round two next year but one thing's for sure, if they need any help we're all over it.
