Finau takes wild ride, ties PGA Championship with 10 birdies

It is only the second time in major-championship history that two scores of 63 or better have been shot in the same round.

Woodland had a 4-under 66 and set the PGA Championship record with a 36-hole score of 130. Three over par after two holes on Thursday, lest we forget, Tiger has fought back so hard and so well he now lies just three shots off the lead going into the final round. Tiger Woods birdied three of his first five holes played.

So much for Woods being exhausted after all that exertion he has expended this year in returning from three back operations.

Woods, in the eighth month of his comeback from spinal fusion surgery, ran off three birdies in four holes Friday to stand 3-under through seven holes for the event when storms stopped play Friday at Bellerive Country Club.

Thomas Bjorn spoke midweek about his belief in Garcia's ability to turn around his form in time to feature at Le Golf National but the Spaniard failed to impress once again on the major stage - missing the halfway cut for the fourth time this year. "So I'm not saying that my score would be any better, I'm just saying what you would like to see in a major championship".

Tom Brady’s contract: Patriots add $5M in new incentives
Washington took Guice with the 59th overall pick after the running back fell on draft night over concerns about his maturity. One game into the preseason - a period where results "don't matter", the Redskins have already suffered a huge loss.

The 14-time major victor was three under for his round to that point and carried on where he left off on Saturday morning, pitching to five feet and holing the birdie putt. He bounced back with two more birdies, bogeyed the ninth and didn't make a par until the 10th hole, and even then he had to make a 12-foot putt.

"I feel safe because I feel safe where my game is", Woodland said.

Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler are the current co-favorites despite being 3 strokes back of the lead held by Gary Woodland. Woods hit 10 of 14 fairways and 15 of 18 greens. The previous was the 1980 U.S. Open won by Jack Nicklaus, who shot 63 in the first round at Baltusrol along with Tom Weiskopf.

"I know he's a little frustrated on the back nine with not making some of those putts", Cink said, "but it's not the easiest course this week to hole putts". One characteristic Furyk surely took note of was the fact that Finau didn't let his 4-over opening round get him down.

Koepka is in third place at 8-under-par for the tournament.

Trump urges peace on Charlottesville rally anniversary
Newsham said the permit allowed for 400 demonstrators, and that overflow zones will be available should more protesters arrive. Ralph Northam and the city of Charlottesville have declared a state of emergency for the anniversary of last year's rally.

Woods himself didn't have an answer earlier this week. "I've been so in the zone you don't know where you are or where you're at".

"With eight holes left there were a few tricky holes in there".

The Dallas native is trying to become just the 6th golfer ever to complete the career Grand Slam.

Which is why Woods was frustrated by his finish Saturday, by his 10 consecutive pars to close on a cupcake-soft course. Built like a boxing heavyweight, no-one could lay a glove on him on this course that plays into the hands of the big hitters.

Through 16 holes, Wallace was tied for 20th at five under par.

Cleveland Browns: Preseason Week 1 instant reactions
The second of those scampers - a 5-yard, red-zone dash on fourth-and-2 - set up Mayfield's 10-yard touchdown toss to David Njoku . On the first drive Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns , Barkley also ran for a two-yard loss.
